These seasonal entry-level and tenured positions are your chance to work alongside a passionate team, tackling critical hazardous fuels reduction projects and gaining hands-on wildland firefighting experience in Big Sur and beyond. As a member of the Hand Crew, you’ll engage in a variety of critical tasks, from clearing brush and falling [complex] trees to constructing fire lines during emergencies. Hand crew members will take part in rigorous training such as the initial qualification "pack test", daily physical fitness program and more. They will also receive training and certifications in fire line construction, chainsaw operations, firing operations, and leadership. You’ll be on the front lines protecting our community from wildfires. If you’re physically fit, eager to learn, and have a desire to contribute to wildfire prevention, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
